IMPALA revela os 100 Artists to Watch para 2025 em parceria com o YouTube, celebrando a diversidade e a inovação na cena musical independente da Europa – 4 artistas da AMAEI estão na lista

A IMPALA tem o prazer de anunciar os 100 Artists to Watch para 2025, em parceria com o YouTube, marcando o quarto ano consecutivo desta emocionante iniciativa. A seleção deste ano apresenta um conjunto vibrante e diversificado de talentos emergentes da cena musical independente europeia, oferecendo uma nova perspetiva sobre o futuro da indústria e celebrando a diversidade cultural que está no cerne da música independente. A AMAEI elegeu quatro dos artistas que constam desta lista: Katerina L’dokova, MARÉ, Retimbrar e Tagus.

Com curadoria da rede europeia da IMPALA, o prémio 100 Artists to Watch de 2025 destaca talentos excepcionais da cena musical independente. Em colaboração com o YouTube, a IMPALA convidou os seus membros a nomear artistas que representassem este espírito através da sua inovação, sucesso comercial e diversidade.

A seleção deste ano celebra as culturas, sons e histórias que moldam a cena musical indie contemporânea, com 100 artistas de 30 países. Desde a reinvenção de géneros folk tradicionais até à exploração de novas fronteiras musicais, a lista inclui uma ampla gama de estilos, abrangendo jazz, hip-hop, eletrónica, rock, punk, pop e muito mais. Celebramos o talento pioneiro e as fronteiras musicais inovadoras que definem a nossa indústria.

O YouTube irá trabalhar com a IMPALA no programa 100 Artists to Watch para ajudar a aumentar a consciência sobre o setor independente europeu diversificado. O YouTube apoiará a comunidade independente ao destacar talentos de diferentes mercados e em diferentes fases das suas carreiras. A promoção da diversidade é uma prioridade para o YouTube, incentivando os fãs de música a descobrir artistas que, de outra forma, poderiam nunca encontrar. Mais apoio será lançado ao longo do ano, fiquem atentos.

O prémio 100 Artists to Watch foi lançado em 2022 para promover a diversidade no setor da música independente europeia. O projeto destaca uma gama diversificada de artistas incríveis através de uma lista curada pelos nossos membros em toda a Europa. Esta iniciativa é uma evolução natural do prémio de álbum do ano da IMPALA, que decorreu durante dez anos.

Katerina L’dokova

Katerina L’dokova (auto-editada) é pianista, compositora, cantora e educadora de jazz. Lançou três álbuns que fundem jazz com música tradicional. Como artista a solo e colaborativa, atuou internacionalmente e faz digressão com a banda de Salvador Sobral, apresentando “TIMBRE.”

MARÉ

MARÉ (Sons Vadios) é um espetáculo que presta homenagem ao árduo trabalho dos pescadores e das comunidades piscatórias de Portugal. Através da música, videografia e literatura, o público é convidado a embarcar numa viagem por diversas localidades marítimas portuguesas, evocando vidas moldadas pelo mar e relembrando histórias de esforço e dedicação.

Retimbrar

Retimbrar (Revolução D’Alegria) inspira-se nos ritmos tradicionais portugueses e nos instrumentos de percussão. A sua música constrói pontes entre o passado e o futuro. Uma parceria com a Casa da Música culminou no seu álbum de estreia, Voa Pé. O segundo álbum, Levantar do Chão, resultou de colaborações com artistas e grupos renomados ligados ao folclore e à música popular.

Tagus

Tagus (auto-editados) é uma banda portuguesa de rock alternativo conhecida por fundir riffs de guitarra intensos, bateria enérgica e melodias cativantes. O seu som único ultrapassa limites, oferecendo música poderosa e instigante. Através da sua expressão artística apaixonada e dinâmica, Tagus procura inspirar os ouvintes a superar barreiras, sejam elas sonoras, mentais ou físicas.

IMPALA is pleased to announce the 100 Artists to Watch for 2025, in partnership with YouTube, marking the fourth consecutive year of this exciting initiative. This year’s lineup features a vibrant and diverse selection of emerging talent from across Europe’s independent music scene, providing a fresh outlook on the future of the industry while celebrating the rich cultural diversity that is at the heart of independent music. AMAEI elected four of these artists: Katerina L’dokova, MARÉ, Retimbrar and Tagus.

Curated by IMPALA’s European network, the 100 Artists to Watch award for 2025 highlights outstanding talent in the independent music scene. In collaboration with YouTube, IMPALA invited members to nominate artists who embody this spirit through their innovation, commercial success, and diversity.

This year’s lineup celebrates the diverse cultures, sounds, and stories shaping the contemporary indie music scene, featuring 100 artists from 30 countries. From reimagining traditional folk genres to pushing the boundaries of innovation, the selection spans a dynamic mix of genres, covering Jazz, Hip-hop, Electronic, Rock, Punk, Pop and everything in-between. We celebrate the pioneering talent and innovative musical frontiers that define our industry.

YouTube will work with IMPALA on its 100 Artists to Watch programme to help build awareness of the diverse European independent sector. YouTube will help the independent community by spotlighting talent from different markets and at different stages in their career. Promoting diversity is a priority for YouTube, encouraging music fans to discover artists they might never find otherwise. Further support will roll out during the year, watch this space.

The 100 Artists to Watch award was launched in 2022 to promote diversity in the European independent music sector. The project puts the spotlight on a more diverse range of amazing artists through a list curated by our members across Europe. It is a natural evolution of IMPALA’s album of the year award which ran for ten years.

Katerina L’dokova

Katerina L’dokova (self-released) is a pianist, composer, singer-songwriter, and jazz educator. She has released three albums blending jazz with traditional music. A solo and collaborative artist, she has performed internationally and tours with Salvador Sobral’s band presenting “TIMBRE.”

MARÉ

MARÉ (Sons Vadios) is a performance paying tribute to the hard work of fishermen and fishing communities across Portugal. Through music, videography, and literature, the audience is invited to embark on a journey through various Portuguese maritime locations, evoking lives shaped by the sea and recalling tales of labor and toil.

Retimbrar

Retimbrar (Revolução D’Alegria) is inspired by traditional Portuguese rhythms and percussion instruments. Their music builds bridges between past and future. A partnership with Casa da Música culminated in their debut album, “Voa Pé”. Their second, “Levantar do Chão”, resulted of collaborations with renowned artists and groups linked to folklore and popular music.

Tagus

Tagus (self-released) is a Portuguese alternative rock band known for blending intense guitar riffs, energetic drumming, and captivating melodies. Their unique sound pushes boundaries, delivering powerful and thought-provoking music. Tagus seeks to inspire listeners to overcome barriers, whether sonic, mental, or physical, through their passionate and dynamic artistic expression.
